I changed a few Windows settings and my Wi-Fi speed finally improved

My internet plan promises decent speeds, and my router has no trouble keeping up. But somewhere between the router and my laptop, Windows was making a few bad calls that were hurting the actual speeds I was getting. It was throttling the adapter, defaulting to the wrong band, keeping the antennas idle, and roaming between networks at the worst time. Thankfully, it was all too easy to fix, so much so that I regret not doing it sooner.
