A security operation has been launched at the Greek island port of Syros following a bomb threat on board a cruise ship.On Tuesday, an unidentified individual called to claim that an explosive device had been fixed to the hull of a cruise ship heading for Israel.The vessel in question, the Crown Iris, is registered under the Panamanian flag and was preparing to depart for the Israeli port city of Haifa when the warning was received, according to Greek authorities.At the time of the threat, 940 passengers and 597 crew members were aboard the Israeli-owned ship, Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported.
