On Monday, starting at 11am Eastern Time, less than a day after Politico reported that Sam Altman said, in words that may last in infamy, “we believe that the world should accept some bad things happening for the benefits of this technology and people having the agency”, New York City’s City Council will hold an important hearing on AI policy. A number of AI-relevant proposals are under consideration. Because New York City is a large market, I believe that I could help pick up some of the slack where the Federal government is falling short.
