Man shot dead in crowd at London memorial service as police launch murder investigation

Met Police detectives have opened a murder investigation after a 40-year-old man died following a shooting in a large crowd of families at a memorial service in west London.Police were called to East Acton at 7.47pm on Friday, after members of the public reported hearing several gunshots near the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street.Officers attended the scene together with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The injured man was treated by medical staff, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
