Six Flags Magic Mountain in California has announced it will permanently close its iconic X2 rollercoaster, following allegations riders suffered serious brain injuries while on board.The rollercoaster, one of the theme park's best-known rides, has been closed since July.X2 features seats that rotate 360 degrees as the train travels along its track, making it a distinctive and popular attraction at the behemoth site – overseen by the largest regional amusement park operator in North America.Six Flags said X2 had passed a range of safety tests, but the decision to retire the ride was ultimately "the right thing to do".
