German Voters Reject War and the Media Calls Them Nazis

German voters have delivered another decisive rejection of their political establishment. The AfD finished first in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with roughly 38 percent of the vote, its second state-election victory in two weeks, while Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s CDU collapsed below the threshold for representation. It was the CDU’s worst result in any state election since the Federal Republic was founded in 1949. Merz nevertheless insists that he will remain in power and continue pursuing his agenda. His party was just ejected from a state parliament for the first time in its history, yet the chancellor’s response is apparently to carry on as though the voters merely offered a suggestion.
