Drivers are being warned of days-long closures on the M42 this weekend, with significant roadworks underway.The M42 will be closed in both directions between junctions 6 and 9 from 9pm on Friday, September 18, until 5am on Monday, September 21.National Highways explained that repairing the Bickenhill Bridge isn't a viable option given "deterioration in the condition of the structure".As a result of the issues, a decision has been taken to demolish the structure as the "safest, most sustainable long-term solution".
