Microsoft ended the summer with two more Windows annoyances: Defender falsely warning that it is disabled, and reports that an August 27 update is wiping users' mouse cursor customizations. The company added both problems to its Windows release health dashboard on August 28. Microsoft has confirmed the Defender notification bug, while it is still investigating whether the Windows 11 update caused the cursor problems.
