Finland-founded quantum software startup Algorithmiq has strengthened its collaboration with IBM after the two companies demonstrated what they describe as a trusted instance of quantum advantage, tackling one of the field’s biggest challenges: verifying quantum computations that are beyond the reach of classical computers. Using Algorithmiq’s simulation models on IBM’s Quantum Heron processors, the partners showed that quantum systems can produce reliable results for complex materials simulations while introducing a new framework for validating such computations. As part of the collaboration, Algorithmiq is also open-sourcing its monoprop benchmark, allowing researchers worldwide to independently test future quantum...
