Two pro-Palestine activists have been found guilty of damaging a National Gallery Picasso masterpiece.The pair have been convicted of criminal damage and have been bailed until a sentencing appearance, yet to be set in September. Jai Halai, a 25-year-old NHS worker, and Monday-Malachi Rosenfeld, a 23-year-old politics student, attached a photo of a Gazan mother over the glass cover of Picasso’s “Motherhood” painting on October 9, 2024.The pair then poured water-based red paint over the National Gallery ‘s wooden floor, before shouting “Free Palestine” as they were dragged away.
