I gave my TV a second job and now it runs my whole smart home

I try to simplify my smart home as much as possible. Doing this lets me work across devices and move around my home more efficiently. If I'm carrying clothes up the stairs or one of my kids, I don't have time to hit the light switch more often than not. Being able to yell for a smart speaker to turn on a smart bulb or a lamp plugged into a smart plug makes my life much simpler.
